Offline Mode

What happens when your phone has no internet signal at the venue.

Overview

The PopOutNow bouncer app can operate with limited functionality when offline. The attendee list is cached on your device so check-ins can continue without a connection.

How It Works

  • When you open the check-in view with an active connection, the attendee list is downloaded to your device
  • If you lose signal, you can continue scanning and checking in guests using the cached list
  • Check-ins made offline are synced to the server when your connection is restored

Best Practices

  • Open the app and load the event check-in view before you arrive at the venue to ensure the list is cached
  • If multiple bouncers are working offline simultaneously, check-in counts may temporarily be out of sync until everyone reconnects

Common Issues / FAQ

The app shows stale data. Pull down to refresh while connected to force a sync.

A ticket scanned as valid offline but I'm not sure it's legitimate. Offline mode can't detect tickets that were already used by another device. When in doubt, hold the attendee and verify once connected.
